Grand Junction public library rolled out its new KidZone after-school activity program on Monday, Feb. 12, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. KidZone is set up to coincide with early dismissal on Mondays in the winter and spring months in Greene County Schools.
Each Monday, KidZone will feature a Story Time and simple craft activity for ages 4-10. We will have puzzles and board games for ages 11 and older. Tweens and teens are welcome to explore our Young Adult book section, hang out in our conversational nook areas at the front of the library, or surf the ‘Net in our Public Computer Room.
Kids get the munchies on Early Out days since lunch has long been over and the traditional after-school snack isn’t until 4:30 (or later), so we will have some kid-friendly refreshments available for our participants.
Adult helpers (volunteers) are always welcome so stop in at the KidZone. We will find you a task as a special KidZone helper!
KidZone themed activities this month are Feb. 12: Be My Valentine (think red and white and “Barbie Pink” with applicable snacks); Feb. 19: Polar Bear Scavenger Hunt, and Feb. 26: All Things Disney!
